Ferdinand's Ball 2012

Great Cause with an Eco-Chic Vibe

1Hour Break’s natural kava spray will be available in VIP gift bags at the 2012 annual Ferdinand’s Ball. Ferdinand’s Ball is an elaborate charity ball and fundraiser held Derby weekend in Louisville, Kentucky to benefit retired thoroughbred racehorses.

Created in honor of Ferdinand, the 1986 Kentucky Derby winner sent to slaughter in Japan after his retirement. The gala is to raise funds and awareness to about Ferdinand's horrifying end and what we can do to help other legacies live on, giving them the chance that Ferdinand never had. Join celebrities, athletes, and community leaders at this elaborate red carpet gala in Ferdinand’s honor where we will raise awareness and funds so that legacies like Ferdinand can retire in peace and with dignity on a beautiful farm in Georgetown, Kentucky.

This event will benefit Old Friends, a farm located in Georgetown, Kentucky that rescues retired thoroughbreds after their stud careers have ended to prevent them from facing the same fate as Ferdinand and countless other legends: abuse, slaughter, or both. Currently, around 100 legendary horses reside at Old Friends.
