AURORA, Colo. – April 25, 2012 – American Sentinel University, a leading online university accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) and a recognized member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, today announced that Frank Mayadas, Ph.D. was recently elected to the American Sentinel University Board of Trust effective March 14, 2012.
Dr. Mayadas is a prominent education innovator in online learning and has served as a senior advisor to the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation since 2010, advising the foundation on its continuing grants in the Anytime, Anyplace Learning Program.
Previously he served as a program director at the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and helped craft the grant making strategy in online learning, globalization, industry studies and career choices in technical fields.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Mayadas spent 27 years at the IBM Corporation holding a number of executive level positions and most recently serving as the vice president, research division, technical plans and controls from 1991-1992.
Dr. Mayadas has had more than 35 published papers in systems, devices and solid state physics and holds several patents and awards from IBM.
