Artist Jiri Borsky To Exhibit At Barewall Gallery

One of the region’s most acclaimed artists, Jiri Borsky, will be opening his solo exhibition at Barewall Gallery in Burslem next month. Jiri Borsky, 62 of Newcastle Under Lyme , originally from the Czech Republic, has exhibited all over the UK and has collectors worldwide, but his current focus is on the exhibition at Barewall Gallery, which opens on 19th May.

The exhibition will include the latest original paintings by the figurative artist, some of which are notably influenced by The Potteries and his passion for music.

Jiri moved to England in 1968 following the Soviet invasion and settled in The Potteries. Jiri then studied at The Staffordshire University and graduated in 1979 before becoming a full-time artist. Jiri has always been a prolific painter but taking time and care into the completion of his work, including the framing which he hand finishes to great detail.

Barewall Gallery owner Amanda Bromley, 44, said:
“It is very exciting to have an exhibition focussing on artwork by Jiri Borsky and the collectors of his work are on the edge of their seats to see what the show will unveil. These are certainly defining times for art in North Staffordshire.”
