General Details on this Teaming Opportunity
Omaha District will issue a construction contract for the purpose of the work includes placing government supplied bedding and riprap to repair erosion scarping along an approximate 4800 ft. reach of upstream embankment slope at Big bend Dam, South Dakota. The work will also include shaping and dressing an approximate 1,800 ft. reach of riprap previously placed by the government. Additional work includes placing a layer of government supplied riprap to a 300 ft. reach of upstream embankment slope to increase riprap protection. Incidental work for this project includes excavation of the erosion scarp areas to receive bedding material and placement of the excavated material adjacent to the new riprap. Additional work will include hydro-seeding the fill material and all disturbed areas, installation of protective structures around monitoring equipment and gravel path ways over the riprap protection. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety.
