General Details on this Teaming Opportunity
The work of this project consists of repairing sections of the existing rubble mound east breakwater that was damaged during Tropical Storm Irene. The east breakwater is located off-shore, approximately 1 mile to the south-east of Stonington Harbor in the Town of Stonington, CT. Several sections of the rubble mound structure are damaged and require the placement of new 3 to 5 Ton stones to repair those areas where the structure crest height is significantly below the authorized elevation of 9 feet above Mean Low Water. Approximately 2,000 to 2,500 Tons of stone will need to be brought to the off-shore structure, and used to repair the damaged sections of the breakwater. It is expected that the placement of new stone will require the repositioning of adjacent existing stones to achieve the desired structure dimensions. It is also expected that all work will be performed from floating plant, as the structure itself is not accessible from land and is not sufficient to support construction equipment.
