Susan M. Bush, RN, of North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado, was inducted into the 2012 class of Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association Fellows during the PCNA 18th Annual Symposium on Friday, April 13 in Washington, DC. PCNA Fellows represent the best in PCNA membership and have shown excellence in leadership within PCNA and volunteer service to PCNA.
Bush is a founding member and current President of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of PCNA. Since the official designation as a chapter in October 2010, Bush has planned and moderated meetings including the 2011 Fall Lecture Series in Denver. She also collaborated with the Colorado American College of Cardiology which resulted in PCNA cosponsoring the education event “How to Prevent a Stroke” in May, 2011. Bush has been a PCNA member since 2004 and has participated on the membership committee since 2008.
Bush has devoted more than twenty five years to cardiovascular nursing in various capacities including critical care, lipid disease management, and cardiac rehabilitation. Her nursing education started with an Associate of Science degree and has continued through her years of nursing with clinical laddering and multiple seminars and conferences. In 2010, she was accepted into Regis University’s RN to MS program in Nursing Education and Leadership. Her course work for her BSN will be completed in 2012 and the MS in 2013.
