MANCHESTER, NH—Bidding is under way in an exclusive auction of a training week this summer at renowned Carrabassett Valley Academy (CVA) to benefit AbilityPLUS Adaptive Sports. The CVA “Tramp & Skate Camp” is a unique opportunity for aspiring ski/snowboard athletes who may dream of competing at the Olympic, World Cup or X-Games level. CVA’s Trampoline and Skate Camp is the ideal venue to introduce young athletes to world-class training with members of the US Ski Team, World Cup competitors and X-Games and Dew Tour athletes at the nation’s most prestigious Ski/Snowboard Academy.
“We’re extraordinarily grateful to the academy, as all proceeds from this auction will benefit AbilityPLUS adaptive sports and recreation programs,” said AbilityPLUS Executive Director David Hauser. “Every opportunity we have to expand our services through funding additional programs means more individuals and families will have the opportunity to enrich their lives through adaptive sports.”
During the week-long program, youth aged 9-to-15 hone their skills in the off-season at the CVA Anti-Gravity Complex Skate Park and Bowl; learning new tricks, sharpening agility and improving strength. The week includes skateboarding, inline skating, trampoline training, indoor climbing wall, swimming, weight training and video analysis.
"CVA is thrilled to support AbilityPLUS and we're excited to help others experience the joys of skiing and snowboarding. I couldn't be more proud of the work [CVA students] do for AbilityPLUS. Their service and commitment embodies what CVA is all about," said Kate Punderson, CVA Head of School.
The auction offers a unique opportunity for youth athletes of any aspiration to be exposed to training with Olympic, World Cup and X-Games champions. The program runs during July and August.
