PLANO, Texas—Alliance Data President and CEO Ed Heffernan has accepted an appointment to the board of directors for Children's Medical Center. In recent years, Mr. Heffernan has taken an active role in supporting the hospital by serving on the hospital's Corporate Partners Initiative, which encourages support from businesses in the local community as well as personal financial contributions. Additionally, Mr. Heffernan has been involved in Alliance Data's long-time partnership with Children's over the last decade, providing corporate funding and employee volunteer opportunities to benefit numerous hospital initiatives, most specifically to further the successful buildout and expansion of the hospital's newer Legacy campus, located in Plano, which continues to be ranked as one of the fastest-growing cities in the country.

Along with his peer board members, Mr. Heffernan looks forward to bringing his leadership and financial expertise and perspective of a father with two children to help Children's continue to realize growth and success, serving as a valuable resource to the North Texas community, over his two-year term.

"Ed continues to be a generous partner and champion of Children's, and we're excited to count him as an eager steward as we focus on our mission of delivering exceptional care for all children in our community," said Christopher Durovich, president and CEO of Children’s. "The future of Children's will require considerable resources to ensure that we continue to provide the very best medical care and scientific breakthroughs. This would not be possible without the guidance and support of our board."

"I'm honored to serve on the board of Children's—an institution whose mission and strategic vision are vital to this community, especially given the population growth in North Texas," said Ed Heffernan, president and CEO of Alliance Data. "This appointment represents another level of commitment from Alliance Data. Our thousands of employees across the country tell us year after year that children's advocacy initiatives are where we should devote our time, energy and resources to do our part in helping our local communities thrive. I look forward to serving on its board as a representative of the company and on behalf of all our employees."

A private, not-for-profit hospital, Children's is also the seventh largest pediatric healthcare provider in the nation. Alliance Data has been a key community partner of Children's Medical Center for the last 10 years.
