FOURSQUARE CHECK-IN AT AMSE UNLOCKS FREE ADMISSION

On April 16, check-in on Foursquare at the American Museum of Science and Energy in Oak Ridge to unlock free admission. Help AMSE earn the Swarm Badge in three hours and be among 50 or more people to check-in on Foursquare at the museum between 9 am and 12 noon on April 16. Additionally, AMSE will be playing foursquare and giving away prizes including memberships, gift certificates to the Discovery Shop and more for all visitors on Foursquare Day.

Celebrated on April 16, Foursquare Day is known as the first social media holiday to encourage people to get out with friends and visit some of their favorite places, as well as new ones. It is celebrated on April 16 because April is the 4th month and the16th is 4 squared; thus 4/16 or Foursquare(d).

Foursquare.com is a location-based mobile platform used for exploring cities and sharing your location with friends, while collecting points and virtual badges.

While the focus on April 16 is on Foursquare, AMSE will honor free admission for checking-in on other location based services, like Facebook Places, Gowalla, Yelp, SCVNGR and Google Places.
