Long hours, countless home visits and never ending paper work –work hours expand long past the traditional 9-5 the life of a social worker is sometimes stressful and thankless until now, Strength of Nature and Assisted Living Locators have joined forces to host Restored & Renewed 2012. On Saturday, April 21, 2012 social workers from throughout the Atlanta area will sojourn to the Georgia Institute of Cosmetology and Esthetics 495 Indian Trail Road, Lilburn GA for a day of pampering and empowerment. Registration begins at 9:15AM.
Through the generosity of sponsors, The Nina J. Spicer Foundation and Georgia Institute of Cosmetology and Esthetics, 100 social workers will escape the cares of their clients as they enjoy mini facials, manicures, pedicures, massages and make-up application.
The brainchild of Assisted Living Locators, this event is designed to celebrate some of the unsung heroes for their hard word and dedication. Strength of Nature has enlisted the services of Celebrity Hair Stylists and their creative styling team as well as, several notable make-up artists to assist in providing complimentary services.
According to a recent survey of social workers, 75% reported experiencing burnout and 73% of social workers considered leaving their current job at one time.
In addition to makeovers, guest speakers, Ebony Steele from the Rickey Smiley Morning has been invited to inspire, uplift and encourage human service providers while The Wellness Connoisseur, Anita Regus will provide the group with the necessary tools to make healthier lifestyle choices. This will be a day of rejuvenation for these very deserving social workers.
