"We have come together as a group of concerned parents to help stop teenagers and other drivers from dangerous driving habits like texting while driving," says David Metter, CEO of Mobile Tattletale Applications, LLC. "Mobile Tattletale can help save lives through parent monitoring technology." Parents - including moms who, says Metter, are using AskPatty.com's resources to keep up to date with everything automotive, especially the safety of their children.
"Ask Patty recognizes that texting while driving is a significant problem among younger drivers today, and a huge part of the education we provide for our readers has to do with safety, particularly where their children are concerned," says Jody DeVere, CEO of AskPatty.com. "This service promises to really make a difference in the alarming statistics we see right now, and it's important to us that parents are aware of this potentially life-saving tool, and that's where the partnership really resonates. The decision maker on these issues is usually Mom - and Mom is an Ask Patty reader."
Mobile Tattletale's patent pending technology functions with the GPS on a smart phone. When the user of the phone reaches a certain speed, predetermined by the parent, texting functions on the phone are blocked until the speed is reduced below the speed setting. The application offers additional features, including an automatic text response for inbound texts that lets the other party know that the teenager is unable to text at that time, and a notification to the parent if the child tries to disable the application or remove it from the phone. Mobile Tattletale is available for download on the Android and Blackberry cellular phone platforms, and will be available on the iPhone shortly. A one-year license to use the application costs $4.99, and can be renewed automatically each year.
A portion of the proceeds from the AskPatty.com branded MobileTattleTale app will benefit United Spinal Association, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit membership organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of disabled and paralyzed Americans and their families for over 60 years.
