About Fred’s Auto Repair
Fred Indorf, owner of Fred’s Auto Repair, has been interested in cars since he was 9 years old, and received his first car when he was only14. He spent a whole summer getting it running and once complete, acquired another 22 cars by the time he was 16. At the age of 16 a local dealer, Wallace Scott, offered Fred a job, and he jumped at the opportunity and never looked back.
Fred started Fred’s Auto Repair in 1974, out of a desire to be his own boss of a business built on trust and customer loyalty. Fred’s Auto Repair has successfully achieved that goal, and continues to service three generations of family members coming back year after year to maintain their vehicles.
Last year, Fred hosted a Saturday clinic for the local Girl Scout troop, working on a merit badge for car maintenance. “Planning for 10 to 14 years old, they all showed up in their own cars. I spent time teaching them how to change a flat tire, jump start a car with battery cables, how to open their hoods and check all the fluids, and adjust tire pressure. I really enjoyed it and the girls did too!”
