As thousands of people converge on Fort Worth for the annual Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, AT&T is boosting network capacity to help its customers have a great wireless experience.

The company has deployed four cell sites on wheels (COWs), to accommodate expected increased wireless network demands from high concentrations of smartphone users at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. The augmentations will help improve reliability and fast data speeds as the event runs through Feb. 4.

“Events like the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo generate memorable experiences that our customers will want to share with friends and family through text messages, photos, status updates on social networks and calls from their mobile devices,” said Adam Vital, vice president and general manager of AT&T in North Texas. “Our local network engineers have been hard at work enhancing network connections and speeds to provide our customers attending the event a great network experience however they choose to connect and communicate.”

The temporary enhancements are part of AT&T’s ongoing efforts to prepare for and provide the best possible mobile experience during special events like the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. With an expected crowd of over 900,000 attendees, AT&T’s network team has enhanced nearby cell sites and deployed four COWs to support the crowd’s mobile broadband needs.

“We are pleased that AT&T has stepped forward to assist the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo enhance our guests’ experience while on the grounds,” said Bradford S. Barnes, president and general manager. “As the Stock Show continues to increase its social media presence, the improved cellular service on the grounds is imperative.”
