AWeber and Tuts+ Premium Launch Contest for Top Email Designs

Contest Winners Will Receive Exposure Among 110,000 Small Businesses and Free Tuts+ Premium Membership

AWeber, an email marketing service provider to over 110,000 businesses, entrepreneurs and bloggers, announced a global search for the top email template designs with the launch of a design contest.

Held in partnership with Tuts+ Premium, an online library of courses, tutorials and eBooks teaching creative and technical skills like design, web development and more, the contest provides designers with exposure to AWeber's customer base of small businesses.

The designers of the top winning templates, as voted on by a panel of AWeber marketers and designers, will receive:

  • First Prize: Two year membership to Tuts+ Premium

  • Second Prize: One year membership to Tuts+ Premium

  • Third Prize: Six month membership to Tuts+ Premium

  • Runners Up (up to 10): Three months of free AWeber service

Winning designers will also be featured on AWeber's blog, and will have the option of including their submission in AWeber's template library with the designer's name and website link in the footer. Winners will retain full rights to their designs and the template will not be used without their permission.

Designers wishing to enter the contest can review AWeber's blog post announcement, download the submission guidelines and submit their design by Friday, April 20.

New Designs, New Broadcast Editor

The template design contest announcement comes after the launch of AWeber's new broadcast message editor on March 6, providing sophisticated design capabilities for messages sent through its email marketing platform.

With a simple and straightforward interface, the editor minimizes the complexity of creating professional emails and newsletters, and also provides designers the ability to create custom designs and templates.

Created for all skill levels, the new broadcast message editor allows both amateur and professional designers the option of using:

  • A block editor, with drag-and-drop formatting of headlines, paragraphs, images, coupons, and product listings;

  • A raw HTML editor for extensive customization, with a full-screen mode and choice of white or black background;

  • A template editor, allowing users to create and save their own templates, or transfer a previously-used template into the new message editor;

  • A plain text editor, for simple messages without formatting and images.

The editor also contains a new message scheduling function, allowing users to easily visualize messages across the calendar month.
