Ball State professor to participate in national webcast on election administration

Joseph Losco, chair of Ball State University’s Political Science Department, will join election administrators around the nation on March 20, in a roundtable discussion sponsored by the federal Election Assistance Commission in Washington, D.C.  The event will be webcast live from Washington and feature a twitterfall.

The roundtable discussion will focus on the national efforts to provide a clearinghouse and information resource for election officials as they prepare for the 2012 elections. The event will provide a national platform for participants to share ideas and strategies for improving the administration of American elections.

Losco is a member of the Voting System Technical Oversight Program team under the auspices of the Bowen Center for Public Affairs at Ball State University.  The oversight program is charged by the Indiana Election Division and the Office of the Secretary of State with evaluating and recommending certification of voting machines in Indiana.

Citizens and voters are encouraged to participate in the Roundtable by tweeting or sending comments and questions during the discussion from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on March 20.  The Twitter address is @EACgov and the meeting hashtag will be #Bready2012
