Beech Acres Parenting Center ~ a nonprofit whose mission is strengthening families for children ~ is opening a new location in Westwood to better serve families on Greater Cincinnati’s West Side. Parents, caregivers, educators, business owners, neighbors and friends are all invited to the agency’s community open house on Monday, May 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. at 3325 Glenmore Ave (Cincinnati, Ohio 45211).
For 163 years, Beech Acres has had a single focus in its evolving work—helping children to grow into capable, contributing, caring adults. The organization’s extensive experience has enabled it to develop creative services to meet the increasing complex challenges facing today’s families. Today it offers thirty-four programs in six major service areas to diverse parents in Hamilton, Butler, Clermont, and Warren Counties. Currently Beech Acres serves the West Side from a small rented office suite.
The Glenmore Avenue location will allow Beech Acres to offer more services such as parenting education/support groups, mediation consultation for divorcing or troubled couples, parent mentoring, case management, foster parent training, and school and community based services convenient to families on the west side. Mental health services will expand with clinically licensed and masters level therapists who offer counseling and treatment in the office, in homes, or in schools.
“By strengthening relationships and families, we help prevent or treat serious childhood trauma and behavior problems which can lead to school failure, substance abuse, and delinquency. Our goals in all of our programs and services are to build the capabilities of parents, develop the natural strengths of their children, and connect families to supports in their communities so that Cincinnati’s children thrive,” said Jim Mason, President and CEO of Beech Acres Parenting Center.
Beech Acres provided nearly 17,000 services for children, parents and educators across greater Cincinnati last year with a broad range of unique services in homes, schools and in the community to strengthen parenting and relationship capabilities.
