BendBroadband Vault to Host Ribbon Cutting and Launch Party June 2, 2011

BendBroadband today announced it will host a ribbon cutting and launch party at its new green data center, the Vault, in Bend on June 2, 4-6 p.m. The event is open to the public and no reservations required. The Vault is located at 20845 Sockeye Place in Bend, Oregon.
The Vault is a 30,000 square foot Tier III enterprise-class data center providing companies with colocation, disaster recovery, dedicated managed services (partnering with world renowned managed services experts, Logicalis), and cloud computing.

More than just another data center, the Vault holds the highest green credentials a data center can offer (and first in Oregon), including KyotoCooling Systems, solar panels that generate 152kW of power, LEED Gold (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and Energy Star Certification (pending), and electricity from Blue Sky renewable power. Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, LEED certification provides third-party verification that a building is designed and built using responsible strategies for energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emission reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.

The Vault currently houses two anchor tenants, one of whom is St. Charles Health system, and several clients from the financial, health, and technology sectors, along with five major network carriers. BendBroadband also hosts key elements of its own Network Operating Center (NOC) at the facility, providing data and transport services to the region's commercial and residential customers.
