[Pasadena, CA] In a unanimous vote, the Asset Network for Education Worldwide, Inc. (ANEW), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, board of directors selected Anthony Minite to serve as its next chairman. Minite also serves as president of Bentley Prince Street, California’s largest commercial carpet manufacturer and an industry leader in sustainability. His appointment as chairman of the ANEW board is a natural progression based on his dedication to ANEW and to Social Sustainability.

“I am proud of the work ANEW does every day to strengthen the environment and support underserved communities,” says Minite. “My goal as board chair is to bring in more resources and carry out strategic initiatives that will propel ANEW forward, so that more organizations experience the power of turning surplus into service.”

Minite has been a member of the ANEW board and Bentley Prince Street has been a sustaining sponsor of the organization for seven years. Beyond that he is an ardent support of Rose Tourje, founder of ANEW. Tourje took a leap of faith and shifted her career focus from working as a commercial interior designer to starting a non-profit after realizing that great improvements were needed in the field of surplus liquidation.

Since 2005, Minite, Tourje and the ANEW team have worked hand-in-hand to ensure that useful materials such as carpet tile, furniture and architectural materials stay out of landfill and are redirected to deserving organizations. To date, the support of Minite and Bentley Prince Street has helped ANEW to divert over 7 million pounds of useable surplus from landfill, to strengthen communities by serving charitable organizations within; such as schools, senior centers and others across the nation.

“It’s ANEW day for us,” says Tourje. “Anthony leads by example and with his years of corporate business experience, we are aimed for success and continued growth as a social and environmental public service resource. I am humbled and inspired by Anthony every day and our Board is ecstatic about his appointment.”
