KELOWNA, BRITISH COLUMBIA, March 13, 2012 – Big White Ski Resort celebrates its second annual ‘Big Whites at Big White’ Wine Weekend March 30 through April 1, 2012. Hosted by the resort’s finest restaurants and sponsored by some of the finest wine producers in the Okanagan Valley, Big White’s ‘White Wine Weekend’ highlights crisp white wines, fine food, world class skiing, and the spirit of spring.
Featuring wines from over 30 award-winning local wineries including Peller Estates, Ex Nihilo Vineyards, and Popular Grove Winery to name but a few, Executive Chef Bryce Broadhurst from Big White’s Kettle Valley Steak House will be working alongside Chef Chris Thomas from the BullWheel, Big White’s newest restaurant, Certified Sommelier and Culinary Chef Nikolas Roy from 6 Degrees and Vincent Denis from Santé Grille to prepare locally inspired appetizers to enjoy while savouring the year’s best. The event takes place takes place on March 31, 2012 from 6-9pm in the Village Centre Mall. Tickets are priced at $30 per person.
To mix things up this year, Big White has introduced its first annual Bartender Face Off hosted by Globe Café & Tapas. A maximum of four bartenders will take part in a cocktail competition to create a unique cocktail using a secret Okanagan wine. Three judges and an audience of up to 40 people will judge the competition on taste, presentation, originality and use of the secret wine. Big White’s Big White first annual Bartender Face Off takes place on Friday March 30, 2012 starting at 8.30pm behind the bar at Globe Café & Tapas at Big White Ski Resort. Tickets are priced at $30 per person.
