Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove: Events Calendar for June

ASHEVILLE, N.C., May 18, 2012 – The following events will take place at the Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove in June:

June 4: SeniorSalt Hymn Sing at The Cove
SeniorSalt Hymn Sings at The Cove are an opportunity for senior adults to gather to sing beloved traditional hymns and choruses. In addition, the morning program will include inspiring Scripture passages and interesting stories behind the songs. A buffet-style meal in the dining room will follow. After lunch guests are welcome to stay for the afternoon and enjoy The Cove as they view memorabilia from Billy and Ruth Graham’s life and ministry, shop in Ruth’s Attic Bookstore or tour the Visitors Center.

June 4-8: “The Life of Christ" with Michael Card
Each of the four Gospels tells the story of Jesus from a unique point of view. Participants in this Intensive Bible Training Seminar will gain a better understanding of what is distinct about each one and develop a clearer picture of who the Savior was and is. This seminar in a classroom setting is designed to take a comprehensive approach to understanding a specific section of the Bible over the course of five days. Michael Card is an author, radio host, Bible teacher, and celebrated singer-songwriter of biblically based classics such as “El Shaddai.”

*Single-day registration may be offered on a space available basis.

June 8-10: Studio Seminar: "Living Fully in the Present" with Ken Boa
The world tells us that what we achieve and accomplish determines who we are, but the Scriptures teach that who we are in Christ should be the basis for what we do. Participants in this seminar will find out how to become faithful to the process of life rather than living from one product to the next. “Studio Seminars” are held in Training Center classrooms to provide the opportunity for spiritual growth and learning in an intimate setting. Ken Boa is the president of Reflections Ministries and Trinity House Publishers. A gifted Bible teacher and author, he is also a contributing editor to The Leadership Bible, and the consulting editor of the Zondervan NASB Study Bible.

June 14-16: Studio Seminar: "Reclaiming Surrendered Ground" with Bob Reccord
For many, living the Christian life with confidence, passion and obedience may seem impossible. As a Christian, you serve the same God who delivered the Promised Land into the hands of freed slaves. Participants in this seminar will discover how God can use them to make a major difference in this world. “Studio Seminars” are held in Training Center classrooms to provide the opportunity for spiritual growth and learning in an intimate setting. Bob Reccord is a nationally recognized speaker, author, and former pastor. He is the executive director for the Washington, D.C.–based Council for National Policy and is founder and president of Total Life Impact Ministries.

June 16: An Evening at The Cove with NewSong
An Evening at The Cove includes a buffet dinner, followed by an uplifting concert program. NewSong, celebrating three decades in Christian music, has recorded 17 albums, garnering 20 No. 1 Christian radio singles and a Grammy Award nomination. NewSong is also the founder and host of the evangelism-oriented Winter Jam Tour Spectacular, Christian music's largest annual tour. NewSong’s latest recording, One True God, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Christian/Gospel Albums chart last year.

*Overnight lodging is available at applicable rates and includes breakfast the following morning. Concert-only registration may be available for select programs.

June 18-22: Intensive Bible Training Seminar: "Diggin' Deeper – Practical Principles for the Study of God's Word" with Mark Yarbrough
The Bible was given to us to profoundly change who we are, and studying it is vital to our daily walk. Participants in this Intensive Bible Training Seminar will explore the big picture of God’s Word from Genesis to Revelation and be equipped with practical tools for engaging Scripture. Mark Yarbrough is vice president for academic affairs, academic dean and an assistant professor at Dallas Theological Seminary. He is also a pastor at Centerpoint Church in Mesquite, Texas, and an author and songwriter.

June 25-27: Senior Celebration with Cliff Barrows and Friends
Prayer is God’s invitation to approach His throne and have a conversation with Him. Participants in this program will take a new look at this powerful gift and better understand the biblical authority they have to come to God with every need. Senior Celebrations are of special interest to those 55 and older. Don Wilton is senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Spartanburg, S.C.; president of The Encouraging Word broadcast ministry; and an author.

June 29-July 1: "When the Shadows Speak" with Will Graham
After the fall separated mankind from God, the only way that relationship could be restored was through faithful obedience to God’s sacrificial system—a sacred system which foreshadowed the Gospel. Participants in this seminar will explore the profound significance of the Day of Atonement and the ultimate sacrifice by Jesus. Will Graham is the third generation of Grahams to proclaim the Gospel under the banner of BGEA, where he is an associate evangelist and the executive director of The Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove.
