(Butler, PA) Butler County Community College's Succop Theater presents a free concert by Huffman Prairie Winds: United States Air Force Band of Flight on Thursday, May 24 at 7:00 p.m. Sponsored in part by WBUT, All Hitz 97.7 and WISR radio stations in Butler.

Huffman Prairie Winds woodwind quintet is one of four classical chamber ensembles within the United States Air Force Band of Flight. Named for the nearby historic plain where the Wright brothers conducted many of their early aviation experiments, the quintet was founded in 1984 and utilizes members of the concert band.

The current members are Technical Sergeant Jesse Schartz, bassoon, and Noncommissioned Officer in Charge; Technical Sergeant Scott Wise, horn; Staff Sergeant Mary Fessner-Tarjanyi, clarinet; Staff Sergeant Jennifer Kost, oboe; and Airman First Class Jennifer Nelson, flute.

These five active duty Air Force members perform a wide variety of music, ranging from the traditional classical repertoire to show tunes and ragtime. The United States Air Force Band of Flight is one of twelve bands in the Air Force. The band’s purpose is to support the global Air Force mission in war and peace by fostering our national heritage and by providing professional musical products and services for official military, recruiting, and community relations events.

Tickets are available at the studios of WBUT, All Hitz 97.7 and WISR at 122 Hollywood Drive, Suite 203 in Butler. For more information, call 724-287-8711, ext. 8245.
