From "Hosanna!" to "He's alive!"

Calvary invites public on Holy Week journey from Palm Sunday to Easter

GOLDEN VALLEY, MINN. - "Hosanna!" "Crucify him!" "He's alive!" Such was the soundtrack of Jesus' final days of earthly life, His death and His resurrection. In recognition of His journey from cross to grave to Risen Savior, the public is invited to several worship services during Holy Week and Easter at Calvary Lutheran Church, 7520 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley, Minn.

Easter services will be held on Sunday, April 24, at 6:30, 8, 9, 10 and 11 a.m.; a Spanish service will be held at 11:15 a.m. Holy Communion will be featured at the 6:30 a.m. service. An American Sign Language interpreter will be offered at the 9 a.m. service. AM980 KKMS will air a live radio broadcast of the 10 a.m. service.

Calvary youth will serve an Easter breakfast from 6:30 to 11 a.m. in Calvary's Gym. The breakfast will include eggs, pancakes, sausage, fresh fruit and beverages, and will cost $6 for adults and $5 for children. Proceeds will benefit Calvary's senior high summer trip to BigStuf Camps, Panama City Beach, Fla.

Worship services will also be held on:
 Palm Sunday, April 17, at 8, 8:45, 10 and 11:15 a.m. (AM980 KKMS radio broadcast at 10 a.m.). Two services will be held at 11:15 a.m.-one in English and one in Spanish.
 Maundy Thursday, April 21, at 5:30 and 7 p.m. (AM980 KKMS radio broadcast at 8 p.m.). Maundy Thursday will feature Holy Communion and a live portrayal of the disciple Peter, as well as a congregational dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The cost for the dinner will be $6 per person or $18 maximum per family.
 Good Friday, April 22, at 5 and 7 p.m. (AM980 KKMS radio broadcast at 5 p.m.). A Spanish service will be held at 6:30 p.m.

Holy Week at Calvary will also feature a free art exhibit titled "Reflections of Grace: A Christian Witness in Art." Exhibit hours will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Palm Sunday; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, April 18-22; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 23; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Easter Sunday.

Friends and members of Calvary will display works of photography, painting, drawing, sculpture and calligraphy using such media as oil, acrylic, watercolor, ceramic, metal, glass, textiles and wood.
