Morges, Switzerland – CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) announces the launch of a series of CA Cloud Choice Simulation events specifically designed for its partner community, being held across Europe.
Cloud computing is increasingly adopted as a transformative opportunity for IT organizations as it allows to shift the focus from managing infrastructure, maintenance and operations, to optimizing the delivery of business services for innovation and growth.
These highly interactive events let partners experience the significant strategic IT decisions their customers are facing in 2012, including which services to move to the cloud, when to make the move, and whether a public, private or hybrid cloud is the best choice. Partners can subsequently host a CA Cloud Choice Simulation event with their customers to help them make the best cloud choice for their business needs.
The CA Cloud Choice Simulation events for partners are taking place in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, The Netherlands and Spain.
“At CA Technologies, we are committed to our partners success and will support them to better serve their own business and their clients needs in the new IT and business scenario. Devised as an enablement and lead generation activity, the CA Cloud Choice Simulation is a new opportunity for our partners as it enables them to share the experience very much like their customers’ as they make critical IT decisions to quickly respond to business and market demands. As a result, it enables them to better assist customers as they incorporate cloud delivery and service models, both internal and external, into their business”, says David Griffiths, VP Partner Management Group, Europe, CA Technologies.
The fast-paced, high-energy CA Cloud Choice Simulation event features four rounds of interactive stock market exchange trading, where participants are challenged to create and launch cost-effective cloud services for a fictitious company. The team of 12 to 16 participants needs to react quickly to market demand and overcome financial and technical constraints. As the rounds progress, participants identify opportunities to increase efficiency and cut costs by introducing internal private clouds, and then expand the experience to hybrid and public cloud models, including the Plan, Design, Deliver, Secure and Assure phases, ultimately arriving at an agile virtual data centre. The success or failure of the fictitious company will be a direct result of the participants’ informed decisions.
Partners who attended the launch event last autumn were very positive about the takeaways from results of the CA Cloud Choice Simulation.
Rani Halimi, Lead Cloud Architect at Bull France, said “it is still a challenge today to help our customers understand what value cloud technology can bring to their business, and what the journey to using cloud entails. This workshop is invaluable in the presales process.” Similarly, Miguel Baena, Head of Tender Office Service Business Group at Fujitsu Technologies Solutions Spain, explains “I think it´s a valuable tool to drive understanding of the real decision making process around the cloud and how many people and processes are involved in that decision.”
