CA Technologies to Showcase Service Virtualization Portfolio and Unveil 'Reality Is Overrated' Book at Oracle OpenWorld

Exclusive SV Book Signing with CTO John Michelsen

CA Technologies (NASDAQ:CA) today announced that it will showcase its Service Virtualization solutions at Oracle Open World 2012 (September 30 - October 4) in San Francisco. CA Press, the official publisher of CA Technologies retail books, will unveil its newest title, Service Virtualization: Reality is Overrated, co-authored by CA Technologies John Michelsen, chief technology officer and Jason English, director, CA Service Virtualization.

Written for executive and technical readers alike, the book presents the powerful new practice of Service Virtualization (SV) for simulating today’s complex applications, and outline lessons learned from applying this approach within some of the world’s largest and most complex customer IT environments.

As part of the unveiling, CA Technologies will host an exclusive Reality is Overrated book signing event in the Tap and Brew Lounge in Moscone South (#101) on October 2, 2012 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. PDT. Attendees will be able to meet the authors and receive signed copies of the book.

Visitors to the CA Technologies-sponsored Tap and Brew Lounge refreshment zone will have an opportunity to meet product experts to learn more about CA Technologies Service Virtualization (SV) solutions.
In addition, Michelsen will present the session “Reality is Overrated – Enterprise Agile Requires a Virtual World” from 10:15–11:15 a.m. PDT in Moscone South (Room 236). The session will explore why it is difficult to collaborate and build enterprise applications in today’s distributed computing environments, and how teams can leverage SV practices to simulate the behavior, data, and performance aspects of middleware and downstream systems they need in an agile application development environment with minimal infrastructure cost.

“Other industries, from aviation to electronics, already understand the value of modeling and simulation for product development,” said Michelsen. “Now this practice of developing and testing in virtual environments has finally come of age for software, and not a minute too late, given the increasing cost, risk and complexity of managing today’s enterprise applications.”
