Get Married by Kayak in Charlotte Harbor & the Gulf Islands, Florida.

For a Beachy-Blissful Wedding, Take Kayak to Say or Renew Vows

Charlotte Harbor & the Gulf Islands, Fla. - Couples looking to add a splash to an intimate wedding or a vow renewal can now paddle off to wedded bliss with the new “Kayak Weddings” package offered by Phoenix Rising Kayak Tours out of Cape Haze in Charlotte Harbor & the Gulf Islands, Florida.

Often with only the pelicans for an audience and the soft, sandy beaches and turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico as a backdrop, weddings and vow renewals are performed surf-side by Phoenix Rising Kayak Tours owner, Chris Warren, who has recently been authorized by the state of Florida to perform weddings. Chris will perform his first vow renewal this April for a couple commemorating their 33rd wedding anniversary.

“The vow and wedding packages are designed for those who just wish to stray from the glitz, glam and expense of a conventional wedding or for those who have been married awhile and want to do something unique to commemorate their life together,” says Chris.

For the ceremonies, bride and groom board their kayaks and join a guide on a short paddle to one of the numerous remote and pristine barrier islands in the Charlotte Harbor preserve where the ceremony of their choice is performed as the waves lap upon the shore.

Each “island wedding” includes a fruit and cheese plate and a champagne toast for the couple and each of their entourage. There is even an option to include the wedding service and a fly-casting lesson for two, provided by Dave Loger of No Motor Fly Fishing, to help the couple start off on the right foot. www.nomotorflyfishing.com As Chris says, “Pay attention and you’ll never go hungry!”

The “Kayak Weddings” packages are designed for intimate wedding parties of up to six or eight people. Chris recommends hosting a reception at an area restaurant following the ceremony to mix, mingle and celebrate with guests. For larger wedding parties, special arrangements to attend the ceremony by boat may be made.

Packages begin at $150.00 per couple plus tax, and a pre-nuptial meeting is required. Wedding packages include the kayak excursion, a fruit and cheese plate, complimentary champagne toast and wedding service. A marriage certificate from the state of Florida is required.

Married couples who wish to re-commit their love can ride the waves to a vow renewal ceremony, complete with fruit and cheese plate, and a champagne toast starting at $130.00 per couple plus tax. Call (941) 586-2836 for planning assistance or visit www.prkayak.com/wedding-tours for details.
