Each Citizen Philanthropist (CP) receives online and offline fundraising tools, along with coaching and support from fundraising experts at Citizen Effect. CPs so far have raised $25,000; the goal is to raise $250,000 by the end of 2012, with further fundraising efforts continuing beyond the initial goals.
“One thing I want to make very, very clear is that we’re not done,” says Citizen Effect founder Dan Morrison. “We’re not going anywhere. We want to blow right past this 150 number. We want 200-300 people to be a part of this movement.”
Citizen Effect has also partnered with Michigan Corps, which will help manage Detroit4Detroit and the fundraising projects moving forward. Nonprofits with projects include ACCESS, Brightmoor Alliance, COTS, DAPCEP, Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries, SER Metro, Summer in the City, Vanguard CDC and Wellspring.
