Concordia University, Nebraska’s Plum Creek Children’s Literacy Festival was awarded $12,000 by the Nebraska Humanities Council and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment. NHC received 32 funding requests in excess of $279,000. Less than $129,000 in grant awards were approved.
“We are honored to receive such a large percentage,” said Dr. Janelle Uffelman, festival director. “NHC truly believes in the mission/vision of the festival.”
The NHC is an independent, non-profit organization that since 1973 has been funding programs that explore Nebraska’s heritage, build community awareness and strengthens ties to cultural traditions at home and abroad.
Plum Creek Children’s Literacy Festival has received NHC funding since 2000.
