DearATL Makes the Dirty South Something More Than Chicken and Waffles

Atlanta's newest critics, DearATL, produce all Southern reviews with no hospitality.

ATLANTA (May 2012)- In the city that sleeps far too regularly, spends more time in traffic than anywhere else and can finally get their Sunday liquor sales on, DearATL is born. The DearATL staff comes together as unique group of writers who give local Atlantans and OTP’ers alike a fresh perspective on their beloved city.

“We got tired of Atlanta being equated with that Real Housewives’ train wreck,” creator D.G. says. “If one of my friends suggested a lunch at Chili’s I would slap them so hard their weave would fall out. ATL has so much more to offer than people realize, and we want them to see that.”

Never shying away from dropping the occasional f-bomb, the DearATL staff is staying tight-lipped on their everyday identities. The DearATL writers pen their insignia at the bottom of each hilarious review, which more often that not, is littered with brutal honesty.

“We want people to fall in love with our opinions, not our blindly good looks,” writer and designer L.M. says. “We have a really strong group of writers, and I’m excited to see what we produce.”

DearATL is ‘snatchin’ yo people up’, June 1, 2012.

ABOUT DearATL:
Atlanta’s newest web-based review service, DearATL, is a team of pop culture soaked minds and George Carlin inspired mouths. The critics of DearATL are well learned, well traveled, and well spoken. Comprised of art critics, foodies, and tattoo collectors, DearATL is young, and most importantly, boisterous. With an arsenal of colorful vocabulary, DearATL reviews everything from brand designs to cheap eats, from the heart of Midtown all the way, begrudgingly, to OTP. Throw out your Zagat ratings. Delete your Yelp reviews. Slip on your daisy dukes and boots with the fur. Welcome to our urban playground, the Dirty South.
