Hurley Partners with Fusion of Ideas to Gift Customized iPads to US Open of Surf All-Stars

New Color Process Adds a Rainbow of Device Customization Options

Fusion of Ideas announces that its DigitalTechToo (DTT) device customization line of business well-known for its laser-etching process for the b-to-b community has added a new, cutting-edge service to its repertoire: DigitalTechToo {COLOR}. The DTT {COLOR} process enables permanent full-color customization onto any electronic device.

Recognizing the personalization potential of DTT {COLOR}, Hurley, a youth lifestyle brand rooted in surfing, skate, music and art and long-time DTT customer, enlisted Fusion of Ideas to color customize ten iPads as gifts for US Open of Surfing All-Stars, including Mick Fanning, Taj Burrow and 10x World Champion Kelly Slater.

"Fusion of Ideas does some of the greatest and most innovative work in the device customization field," says Brandon Guilmette of Hurley's Sports Marketing division. "We love their work and their customer service."

The new DTT {COLOR} service is not a type of laser-engraving. DTT {COLOR} is a process of digitally printing an image - such as a company logo or other graphic - in full color directly onto an electronic device that is permanently UV bonded. The finished look is smooth, clean and seamless, and the colors are bright and crisp. Users do not have to worry about the image flaking or peeling away since it is not a type of sticker or screen printing process.

About Hurley
"Hurley is a company based on inclusion," says chairman and founder Bob Hurley. This philosophy applied to Bob Hurley's early years as a Huntington Beach shaper, working with friends alongside the world's best athletes to make a better surfboard. It applied to the company's launch in 1999, when Hurley decided to start a brand that was a true microphone for youth. In 2002, Hurley was acquired by Nike - the largest and most influential sporting brand in the world. Inclusion remains a guiding principle of the company today, where innovative products like Phantom Boardshorts and game-changing events like the US Open of Surfing continue to redefine what is possible in our world. Hurley headquarters are in Costa Mesa, CA with international offices in Sydney, Tokyo, Barcelona and Bali.
