NEW YORK, NY (December 22, 2011) -- Vizibility Inc. announced today the availability of a new attendee badge creation tool for the tradeshow, exhibition and business event industry. The hosted tool, which is available for free on the company’s website, automatically creates name badges with personalized QR codes for each attendee and produces a print-ready PDF for Avery badge template 3592. When scanned, the QR code displays the attendee’s curated online identity and contact information in a rich mobile experience. The mobile experience can be customized with event or sponsor logos, offering event managers new revenue-generating opportunities while reducing overall costs with complimentary badge creation.
Quick Response codes, or QR codes as they’re more popularly known, are a hot marketing trend, appearing on signage, printed material and other items to allow consumers to scan them with smartphones or tablets to reach marketing websites. Personal QR codes are increasingly popular with business professionals and are being placed on business cards, presentations and resumes. Vizibility’s QR code-enabled attendee badges offer numerous benefits for event organizers, exhibitors and attendees. Each attendee also receives a free 45 day trial of Vizibility Premier, enabling them to receive text messages whenever their QR code is scanned, among other features.
Several recent events have featured QR code-enabled badges from Vizibility, including NYC Tech Connect, the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) New York Chapter’s monthly events, Social Media for Law Firms by Thomson Reuters West LegalEdcenter, LMA Tech West, the Career Thought Leaders Conference and Symposium, and the NY Entrepreneurs Business Network (NYEBN). The upcoming 2012 LMA Annual Conference and 2012 Career Thought Leaders Conference and Symposium will also provide attendees with QR code badges from Vizibility.
“QR code badges are an excellent resource for event organizers,” said Shari Ford, Executive Director of NYC Tech Connect. “The badges allow us to provide a valuable free service to attendees without incurring additional costs.”
All badges include a personal Vizibility QR code generated expressly for the attendee. Attendees can connect their free Vizibility account to LinkedIn and Facebook so anyone who scans their QR code at the event can instantly see who they have in common. Attendees can also show their curated Google results, hand-picked online profiles, mobile business card and more. Anyone scanning an attendee’s QR code can also download that person’s vCard instantly so they don’t have to enter the information manually.
“QR code badges give event participants a way to wirelessly connect and gather information digitally,” said Amy Farsht, National Strategic Relations Manager at Thomson Reuters West LegalEdcenter. “As more law firms and industry vendors leverage social media tools to develop new business and manage contacts, QR codes can help professionals expand their networks.”
Vizibility QR code-enabled badges were recently used at the SourceCon 2011 event in Silicon Valley. In a pre-event email, event organizers notified attendees that their name badge would have a personal QR code so they could add any additional information they wanted to share. More than 53 percent of attendees logged into their free Vizibility accounts prior to attending the event.
“The QR code badges were a hit with our tech-savvy conference attendees,” said Danielle Zittel Moseley, Account Executive at ERE Media, Inc., and organizer of SourceCon. “The codes are a great way to wirelessly share contact information – it takes business networking to a new level.”
“Event organizers want to use new technologies like QR codes but there are no easy-to-use production tools to create badges with variable data including both text and graphics that are unique to each attendee,” said Vizibility founder and Chief Executive Officer James Alexander (http://vizibility.com/james). “Our QR code-enabled badges are a snap to create and deliver a rich experience for attendees and exhibitors while offering new sponsorship opportunities. We’re happy to offer this service for free because it exposes people to our powerful online identity management platform.”
