Glass Doctor of Harrisburg, IL Operating in Emergency Mode After Tornado

Shop Remains Open for Window Board-Ups, Glass Services after Leap Day Tornado

The Glass Doctor of Harrisburg franchise, owned by Steve Shoemaker, is operating in emergency mode after the tornado yesterday morning. The shop extended operating hours and is running at full capacity with window board-ups and glass replacements.

The shop has reported shattered auto glass and broken home and business windows. Even the shop sustained a broken storefront window, a blown-in garage door and a board through its roof. Despite its own damage, the shop is staying open for the community.

“It looks like a war zone out here,” Shoemaker said. “A lot of people need our help to get back on their feet, and we’re here to help them as much as we can.”

The shop is located at 714 South Commercial in Harrisburg. For more information or to schedule an appointment, contact the shop at (618) 252-6917 or visit
