GOTRIbalr supports first-time triathlete and ESPNW contributor and Nike Women editor, Adena Andrews

Athlete does first sprint triathlon with full support from women-only network

SAN DIEGO, CA -January 24, 2011 - GOTRIbalr, a destination resource for women of all ages and abilities who want to maintain active endurance sports lifestyles, is supporting Adena Andrews, ESPNW contributor and Nike Women and Nike Running editor, in her quest to do a sprint triathlon on March 19.

GOTRIbal brings Trek Women and Hypercat Racing, amongst others, to round out a full spectrum of support to help Adena in her journey. By providing a new Lexa SL bicycle and specialty gear, Trek Women joins GOTRIbal in its mission to make the endurance sports lifestyle attainable to women who take the initiative to live healthy lifestyles through cycling, swimming or running. "Trek Women is thrilled to help Adena achieve her dream of doing a triathlon," said Leslie Prevish, Trek Women Brand Manager. "The Lexa is the perfect bike for a first-timer, and its Women Specific Design means it's made to fit better from the start."

Rachel Casanta, of Hypercat Racing, and a GOTRIbal Expert Coach, will provide a training program and coaching. Cindy Dallow, PhD. and Sports Dietician, and GOTRIbal Expert Nutritional Coach, will support Adena in her nutritional needs before and at her event.

"GOTRIbal is happy to surround Adena with what she was seeking; support and accountability. "From advice on bike selection, coaching on how to do the swim in a triathlon, to getting access to Scholarship Funds for those who can't afford coaching and gear; GOTRIbal makes it all available to any woman who wants access to others for how to be a stronger, healthier woman," says Tanya Maslach, CEO and Founder. "Our relationship with Trek Women makes Adena's goals easier to reach, and their quick decision to support her demonstrates Trek's support of women endurance athletes who come to GOTRIbal for guidance."

Adena used to be a competitive swimmer, and has completed the 2005 LA Marathon. But now her daily training includes swims, bikes and runs every week which have to fit inside her graduate school and work schedules. So she's a bit nervous. "A triathlon can be a very daunting task but I'm extremely blessed to have the power of GOTRIbal behind me. These women are awesome at what they do," comments Adena, just after getting sized for her new TREK bicycle.

Adena's race is March 19 in South Carolina. She will be writing about her journey on ESPNW and GOTRIbal will highlight her race report on their Member Highlight March 30.
