Here are a few basic tips on to how to make your hair grow faster, thicker and longer. Please note that there are two types of hair treatment routines: hair and scalp, they are not sufficiently different, but you have to pay attention to what you are doing to achieve the best hair you could get within your genes and hair type.
Massage your scalp regularly with a soft bristle brush or gently rub your fingers through the scalp in a circular motion for a few minutes. Overall massaging is highly beneficial in growing hair faster naturally.
Scalp hot oil treatments
Use a mix of oils: few drops (5-6) of essential rosemary oil with 1 oz of olive oil or coconut oil to provide necessary nourishment to the scalp; microwave for about 15 seconds before applying. Rosemary oil’s main property is its stimulating effect; it helps stimulate blood circulation in the scalp stimulating hair follicles and thus promotes healthy hair growth. It is light in texture and therefore, does not clog the pores in the scalp that may retard hair growth. Be sure you aren’t allergic.
Remove scalp residue
Reduce scalp residue as it clogs hair follicles and hinder faster hair growth. You can buy deep cleansing shampoo or use homemade paste with baking soda. Pour some baking soda into a bowl and add water to make a paste enough to go through your wet hair. Massage the paste into your scalp to remove excess buildup around your hair follicles. Do not leave this paste longer then 5 min. You should have the rinse mix to be prepared ahead: 1 part of apple vinegar and 4 parts of water, enough to rinse completely the soda paste. This rinse mix should be slightly chilled otherwise you’ll strip off natural oils from your hair making them brittle. Finish with your washing and conditioning routine as usual but using slightly warm water. Repeat this treatment as needed for shiny, beautiful hair. This treatment has to be done once every 2-3 months, and timetable depends how intensively you are using hairstyling products.
Moisturize your hair properly
Moisturizing is the key to healthier and hence faster hair growth. Tangled hair causes breakage, which is why it’s so difficult sometimes to achieve the desired length. When using conditioners or hair masks, apply the product only on the lower half of your hair, focusing on the dry ends and avoiding the scalp to prevent clogging hair follicles. Plus, by giving proper moisturizing treatment to dried ends will make hair less susceptible to breakage. Do not shampoo your hair too often and never brush wet hair when striving for faster and longer hair growth. It is better to comb semi-moist hair with the help of a wide tooth comb.
Always wash your hair with cold or at most lukewarm water, never hot water. Cold water encourages hair stems to be closed increasing shine and elasticity. Use a combination of three drops of lavender oil with 1 oz lemon/lime juice in ½ gallon of water as a conditioner for final rinsing.
Some people believed frequent hair trimming to be the key to faster hair growth, but this concept is merely a myth. The best way to get long hair is by not getting a haircut, but that doesn’t mean that you have to neglect split hair ends. Although split ends do not stop hair growth, they are considered unfavorable because if they are not eliminated then your hair will grow in split ends, causing further split ends and thereby counteracting the whole charm of having long hair. Basically, the ends of your hair grow older as the strands of hair grow longer. These older strands can only be trimmed; they cannot be repaired. A 1/3” trim is recommended every 10-12 weeks just to refresh your hairstyle and keeping hair in good condition.
Brush your hair minimally; brushing too often damages the outer layer, or cuticle, of the strands. That’s why it is always better to choose a hairstyle that will not make hair look lusterless or frizzy during your normal day. If you have medium to long hair, use a wide tooth comb first, and get a good bristle brush with a wooden base.
