Helsinki - 14 May, 2012 - Hammerkit, the cloud-based web application platform gained international recognition as it was awarded a winner in the World Summit Award (WSA) contest. The competition is part of United Nation’s World Summit Information Society (WSIS), a global initiative to select and promote the world’s best e-Content and innovative ICT applications. The WSA Grand Jury selected the 40 WSA Winners from over 460 digital projects and 105 countries on the basis of content depth and creative and valuable technology for users.

The winners were hosted by the WSA organisation in Cairo Egypt April 26-29 2012, where the winner’s events including the award gala took place alongside with the Cairo ICT 2012 international trade fair.
Finnish ICT business is well valued internationally as Epooq life story application and Renderfarm movie rendering application were also among the winners. Previous years’ Finnish WSA winners include such international success stories as Angrybirds mobile game, Habbo Hotel community as well as Wreck-a-Movie croudsourcing platform.
