The Green Scene is a new Hattie Larlham evening program for children on the autism spectrum. Starting on Friday, March 16, the program will be held at the Constant Companions at 1402 Boettler Road, Suite A, from 5:45 to 8 p.m. every other Friday until May 25. The cost will be $25 per session.
The Green Scene will help children ages 9 to 14 on the autism spectrum build social skills through hands-on learning activities. The program aims to create a safe, welcoming and fun environment where participants can build friendships as well as gain confidence and self-esteem. Sessions will be run by Hattie Larlham staff with significant experience working with children with autism. Some program activities will include writing and sending letters to U.S. troops overseas and learning about the different animals staying at Hattie’s Doggie Day Care & Boarding and Constant Companions.
To register for the program, call LeAnne Embick, Hattie Larlham Play Center coordinator, at 330.274.2272, ext. 3019.
