The legendary Blackwater North, USTC and former Impact site in Mt. Carroll, Illinois has been reopened as Hollow Training Center.
The Hollow is a 129 acre shooting and training facility that was developed to be one of the finest shooting facilities in the United States.
The facility currently has seven flat ranges, one Known Distance (KD) Range, one Unknown Distance Range, one Climbing/Rappelling/Shooting Tower, two shoot houses and many other training areas which includes a newly installed jungle walk and SIGNATURE scrambler course.
The mission at the hollow is to provide personalized firearms training that is tailored to the individual which they are able to build upon in the future. Class sizes are kept small to ensure one on one attention and to maximize the time spent training. A whole slate of courses will be offered beginning in late spring 2012. Also, several competitive shooting matches and charity events will be taking place this year.
The new owner/operator, Petros “Pete” Milionis, is a recently retired Chicago Police Officer with more than 15 years of experience, including serving as the primary firearms/carbine instructor for the S.W.A.T. team for the past 10 years. Milionis was also a full-time operational member of the team, serving as an element leader in the execution of Hostage Rescue/Barricaded Subjects and High Risk Search Warrants. He currently serves as a subject matter expert and lead instructor for the U.S. State Department Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program in the training of high-threat protection details responsible for the protection of national leaders. Milionis has been competitive in USPSA for the past decade, earning the classification of Grand Master.
He has won numerous championship titles, including being the four-time Steel Challenge IDPA World Champion and two-time Steel Challenge IDPA National Champion, as well as High Law Enforcement USPSA National Champion.
