The Brewery to Brewery (B2B) started in 2001 as a fun, challenging ride for a handful of cyclists by invitation only and the event has grown to become one of New England’s premiere events for top cyclists. Ibex provides each rider with the official B2B merino wool cycling hat, which is manufactured in the USA.
The staggered start begins Saturday morning, June 16 at 6:00 am at Harpoon’s South Boston brewery and ends at their brewery in Windsor, VT. The riders depart from the brewery on a northwesterly route through downtown Boston, turning due north near Westminster, VT. While the route can be extremely challenging at times, it offers riders a unique tour through some of New England’s most picturesque towns. Upon completion of the ride, cyclists are welcomed at the brewery in Vermont with fresh Harpoon beers and a barbecue.
Ibex has been following three cyclists – Elaine DeBitetto, Patrick Doak, and Brian Herr – as they prepare for this year’s B2B ride. Check out Part 1 and Part 2 of our Harpoon B2B mini series with videos and interviews with the riders on the Ibex Buzz blog.
The 2012 Harpoon Brewery to Brewery Ride will benefit Team Psycho’s Elite Development Program (EDP) and the Kenary Brain Tumor Research Fund at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Last year the ride raised over $160,000 for these programs.

About the Harpoon Brewery
The Harpoon Brewery was founded by beers lovers, Rich Doyle and Dan Kenary. In 1986 Harpoon was issued Brewing Permit #001 by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, since it was the first brewery to brew commercially in Boston after a dormant period of about 25 years. Harpoon’s line of craft beer features its award-winning IPA and UFO Hefeweizen beers, along with four special seasonal selections. In 2000 Harpoon purchased a second brewery in Windsor, VT, making Harpoon the 8th largest craft brewer in the U.S. Harpoon has since introduced two lines of limited edition beers, the 100 Barrel Series and the Leviathan Series, as well as the all-natural Harpoon Cider made from freshly pressed, local apples.
