LOS ANGELES, CA, NOVEMBER 15, 2012 – Emmy Award® nominated actor, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and partner, Justin Mikita, are pleased to announce Tie The Knot has selected their first official beneficiary, The Human Rights Campaign. Up to $200,000 in proceeds from the sale of Tie The Knot’s limited edition bowties will go directly to the Human Rights Campaign which is the largest LGBT civil rights organization with one million members and supporters nationwide. Tie The Knot’s bowties are currently available for purchase exclusively online at The Tie Bar (www.TheTieBar.com).

Tie The Knot was recently founded by Ferguson and Mikita to raise awareness and advocate on behalf of marriage equality in the United States through art, fashion and entertainment. Combining elements of humor, style and individuality—Tie The Knot is dedicated to supporting various organizations across the country, currently in the trenches fighting for civil rights. The Human Rights Campaign is but one of several organizations which will be supported by Tie The Knot. Future beneficiaries will be announced with each new collection.

“Justin and I have been so thrilled with the excitement surrounding Tie The Knot and are pleased to announce the Human Rights Campaign as our first beneficiary,” said Jesse Tyler Ferguson. “We have worked closely with this organization over the past few years and have been inspired by the tireless work they do for the LGBT community and the fight for Marriage Equality.”

“I am honored that Tie the Knot will be supporting HRC’s work for equality,” said Human Rights Campaign President Chad Griffin.  “By lending their voice and sense of style to the fight for LGBT equality, Jesse and Justin are reminding Americans that equality is always fashionable.  We are grateful for Tie the Knot’s support and their commitment to the LGBT community.”

Recognized for its new breed of neckwear, which is both versatile and affordable, The Tie Bar has partnered with Ferguson and Mikita in designing and manufacturing bow ties for Tie The Knot, which are set to retail at $25.00.

For more information on the fight for equal marriage rights, Tie The Knot will keep an active blog with up-to-date news and developments throughout the country on their website www.tietheknot.org.
