Greenwich, Conn. (Aug. 20, 2012) Day one of the 11th Annual Accounts Payable 2012 Conference & Expo® will feature two best-practice workshops. One of these, "Building a Business Case for Accounts Payable Automation," will be co-led by two representatives of Commerce Bank, sponsor of the workshop: Marc Christman, vice president of EIPP National Sales, and Joel Reddington, regional sales manager of EIPP Sales. Admittance to the workshop is free for anyone who is a conference attendee. AP Expo 2012, produced by IOMA’s Institute of Finance & Management (IOFM), will take place Oct. 14-16, 2012, at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, NV.

Attendees who register for AP Expo 2012 before Aug. 31, 2012, will save $100. Covering AP strategies and tactics, as well as exploring the newest thinking in accounts payable, the AP agenda at IOFM’s AP Expo 2012 will focus on practical approaches to automation, leadership and process improvements. Speakers scheduled to present come from companies such as Gap, Inc., Nordstrom, University of Pennsylvania, Zale Corp., Pacific Gas & Electric, PNC Financial, Quest Diagnostics, Campbell Soup and others. Information is available on how to sponsor the AP Expo 2012, whose first day will feature in-tandem keynote addresses by Former SEC Inspector General H. David Kotz and representatives of powerhouse consumer brand Gap, Inc. and multinational firm ArcelorMittal.

“Automation in the accounts payable function is perhaps the single most beneficial step an AP department can take to improve efficiency,” said RD Whitney, chief executive officer of the IOFM and partner at Greenhaven Partners. “It’s a move that frees staff members from having to spend an inordinate time on administrative tedium, and their newfound flexibility can contribute to an AP department’s impact on the organization at a more strategic level. Mastering the steps involved in conceiving, implementing and executing on an AP automation strategy is, therefore, vital for AP professionals. We are pleased to offer our attendees insight into the way forward.”

Economic stagnation has organizations looking for ways to become more efficient. This Commerce Bank–sponsored and –led workshop will present information on how accounts payable leaders can develop and nurture a business case for automation across AP processes for invoice approval and payment. Attendees will learn how to determine pain points relevant to AP automation, set objectives, review and choose solutions, and realize a return on investment.

AP Expo 2012’s sponsors include Corcentric; Kofax, Inc.; IBM; Brainware, Inc.; Ariba Inc.; and Direct Insite, Inc., all at the platinum level, plus a bevy of additional firms at the gold and silver levels. Additional sponsors are welcome. Attendees of AP Expo 2012 will leave the event armed with the professional intelligence they need to improve at their jobs, save money for their departments, avoid fines, and advance in their careers.
