Spring Ranch Roping Clinic: Emphasis will be on horsemanship and stockmanship in handling cattle in a quiet, low stress manner. Don will introduce students to roping from all angles, which simplifies roping outdoors, or in the branding pen. Students and their horses will practice hooking onto a cow and rope live cattle in various situations.
Students will learn how to take a cow down to be doctored and the correct way to do ground work to prepare the animal for doctoring. This course is based on vaquero style of horsemanship. Instructor: Don Harrington, Saturday and Sunday, April 9th and 10th, 9am to 4pm at the CWC Equine Center in Riverton. Cost $75. Bring your horse and tack.
