Horsemanship/ranch roping clinics planned

Spring Horsemanship Clinic: This weekend clinic is an introduction to riding with leg and body aides, with the express purpose of better communication between horse and rider. Students will learn exercises that will increase flexibility and softness, and enhance the performance of their horse. This course of training is based on traditional vaquero horsemanship ideals. Instructor: Don Harrington, Saturday and Sunday, April 2 and 3rd , 9am to 4pm at the CWC Equine Center in Riverton. Cost $75.00 and bring your horse and tack.

Spring Ranch Roping Clinic: Emphasis will be on horsemanship and stockmanship in handling cattle in a quiet, low stress manner. Don will introduce students to roping from all angles, which simplifies roping outdoors, or in the branding pen. Students and their horses will practice hooking onto a cow and rope live cattle in various situations.
Students will learn how to take a cow down to be doctored and the correct way to do ground work to prepare the animal for doctoring. This course is based on vaquero style of horsemanship. Instructor: Don Harrington, Saturday and Sunday, April 9th and 10th, 9am to 4pm at the CWC Equine Center in Riverton. Cost $75. Bring your horse and tack.
