50% of sales of “Let's Go to the Ballpark!”, by Doug Malan through the Mascot Books website, will be donated to the Harrisburg Disaster Relief Fund.

Herndon, Virginia; March 5, 2012: Author Doug Malan will contribute 50% of all online proceeds from his book Let's Go to the Ballpark! to the Harrisburg Disaster Relief Fund.

Join Cole on his first journey to a professional baseball game as he discovers the sights, sounds and action of the ballpark! Let’s Go to the Ballpark! introduces children to the experience of attending a professional baseball game and the fundamental elements of the sport. From the grounds crew to the stadium vendors and action on the field, the story of Cole and his father, created by Doug Malan, will build anticipation in children for their next trip to your favorite ballpark.

Doug Malan grew up in Pinckneyville, IL, about 60 miles from Harrisburg. When asked why he chose to donate to the Harrisburg Disaster Relief Fund, Malan responded very candidly. "I was really affected when I heard about the devastating impact this storm had on the region where I grew up and I wanted to do something to help out in a small way. I want to raise awareness about the need for help in southern Illinois," Malan said.

50% of the proceeds from every copy of Let's Go to the Ballpark! sold through the Mascot Books website will be donated to the Harrisburg Disaster Relief Fund. The fund was established by the Southern Illinois Community Foundation, a nonprofit, humanitarian charitable organization in Illinois that hopes to engage the people of southern Illinois in building a tradition of philanthropy. More information about the Southern Illinois Community Foundation and the Harrisburg Disaster Relief Fund can be found at www.sicf.org.

Doug Malan published this unique book through the Mascot Books Author Program. The Mascot Books Author Program allows prospective authors to publish their children’s books in a way that combines the freedom of self-publishing with all the support a publishing industry leader has to offer.
