Herndon, Virginia; May 1, 2012: Mascot Books announces the release of The Horseshoe, a children’s book written by Suzanne Hall Nelson, a former elementary educator.

Author Suzanne Hall Nelson takes readers on a journey from farrier to derby in this informative adventure. Horses are very different from you and me, but one thing that we have in common is our need to wear shoes. This book is perfect for horse lovers or anyone who is curious to learn about horses' iron shoes. Her book tells a story from the unique point-of-view of an inanimate object.  The horseshoe comes alive in a singsong rhyme that allows children to anticipate the “next verse” as they read or listen to the story.

Having read 1000’s of books over her years as a teacher, Suzanne has an idea of what children enjoy.  Suzanne Nelson wants all of her books to teach as well as entertain. She explains, “Each book has an embedded lesson such as persistence, self-worth or kindness.”

Suzanne Hall Nelson published this unique book through the Mascot Books Author Program. The Mascot Books Author Program allows prospective authors to publish their children’s books in a way that combines the freedom of self-publishing with all the support a publishing industry leader has to offer.
