"We want to help inform people about the dangers of distracted driving," said Lucan Breedlove, Land Rover Hilton Head Centre Manager. "Part of our role as a dealership is to be a resource about vehicle safety. We want to start the education process with the teen-agers in our community. We hope that once people see the statistics and realize the real danger involved, they will change their driving habits to help protect themselves, their families and others on the road."
During "Hawkfeast", href="http://www.newriverautomall.com/Land-Rover/">Land Rover Hilton Head will be asking teenagers to pledge that they will not text and drive in support of the "TXTNG KLLS" program, a localized to the national Put It Down Distracted Driving Campaign. Each student will sign a pledge card and will be given statistics on the consequences of texting and driving. The students will also be given a "TXTNG KLLS" bracelet to show their support of the campaign and to help educate others on the dangers of texting and driving. Land Rover of Hilton Head is very excited to be participating in this campaign and helping parents educate their children on the practice of safe driving.
