DOUBLE DUTY: ODWALLA’S MANGO TANGO® SMOOTHIE NOW SUPPORTING HAITI RECONSTRUCTION EFFORTS

Odwalla to donate 10 cents for every Mango Tango Smoothie purchased to the Haiti Hope Project, an initiative aimed at giving 25,000 Haitian mango farmers the opportunity to double their incomes

Half Moon Bay, Calif. – Beginning this week, consuming one of the popular Odwalla® Mango Tango Smoothies won’t just be nutritious for your body, it also will help support Haiti’s recovery from the devastating earthquake in January 2010.

As part of its continued support for the island nation, Odwalla will donate 10 cents from every Mango Tango purchase, up to $500,000 per year of the initiative, to the Haiti Hope Project to help provide training and better market access to 25,000 mango farmers in Haiti.

Together with its partners the Multilateral Investment Fund of the Inter-American Development Bank, the U.S. Agency for International Development and TechnoServe, The Coca-Cola Company launched the Haiti Hope Project in March 2010 with the debut of Odwalla Haiti Hope Mango Lime-Aid.

This year, to continue efforts beyond the limited edition launch of Mango Lime-Aid, Odwalla will tie its Haiti Hope Project support to the popular Mango Tango fruit smoothie -- a silky swirl of fragrant mangos, ripe bananas and creamy coconut. The tropical delight is an excellent source of vitamins A, C & E.

“With the one-year anniversary of the earthquake upon us, we wanted to renew our commitment to the important reconstruction efforts continuing to take place in Haiti,” said Alison Lewis, President, Odwalla. “As one of our most popular flavors, it made sense to make Mango Tango part of the Haiti Hope Project in an effort to keep this important cause top-of-mind among consumers who share our commitment to sustainable living and doing good things for the community.”

The Haiti Hope Project is a large-scale, five-year initiative to aid Haiti’s recovery from the devastating earthquake, which occurred on January 12, 2010, and to support its long-term reconstruction.

Available in 450 mL (15.2 fl. oz) and 325 mL (11 fl. oz) grab-n-go recyclable plastic bottles, Odwalla Mango Tango is available in the refrigerated section of natural food stores, select supermarkets and specialty outlets throughout the United States.

About The Haiti Hope Project

The mission of the Haiti Hope Project is to create opportunity for 25,000 Haitian mango farmers and their families by helping to develop a sustainable mango industry. The Haiti Hope Project seeks to double the income of these farmers and raise their standard of living. The donation of 10 cents per bottle purchased of Mango Tango® will help fund this effort to facilitate Haiti’s recovery from the devastating earthquake in January 2010 and contribute to the long-term development of the island nation.
