Every Dollar Has Its Day

Wednesday is National Dollar Day. On August 8, 1786, the Continental Congress established the US monetary system and made the dollar our official currency. Back then, a dollar was worth quite a bit more than it is today but never doubt the power of the dollar, especially when thinking about your long-term goals.

Personal financial planning experts at the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) recommend saving those hard-earned dollars in ways where you won’t feel the pinch.

• Find your goal and your excuse for not saving
• Make a deposit at work
• DIY – lunch and coffee
• Make it a family affair

Celebrate National Dollar Day by making your dollars work for you. A local PICPA member can help your audience take charge of their financial goals with easy tips on how to save.
