PICPA Financial Literacy Calendar Wins Magnum Opus Award

PHILADELPHIA—The Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (PICPA) 2012 financial literacy calendar, A Novel Approach to Finances, won Honorable Mention in the Mangum Opus 2012 Awards’ Best Calendar Design Category. The awards honor outstanding materials created by communications professionals for an internal or external audience.

A Novel Approach to Finances offered important money management tips and financial deadlines to keep consumers’ lives and budgets on track. More than 10,000 copies of the calendar were provided free of charge to more than 250 Pennsylvania libraries as part of the PICPA’s involvement with PaForward, an initiative to help state libraries reposition themselves within their communities as centers of learning, technology, and information. The calendar featured a different novel, story, or children’s tale every month, and used that story as a tie-in to various financial literacy topics. A Novel Approach to Finances was well received by librarians and their patrons.
