PRESS RELEASE: Altoona-Area CPA to Lead Chapter of State Association

Other Area CPAs to Serve as Officers of PICPA's Central Chapter

ALTOONA, Pa. - Michelle L. Peterson, certified public accountant, was elected president of the Central Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) for the 2011-2012 fiscal year.

Peterson is an assistant director/controller at Improved Dwellings for Altoona Inc. A recipient of PICPA's 2010 40 Under 40 award, she has volunteered her time over the years to many Central Chapter committees, including its Executive Committee. Peterson is an American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) member, and also serves on the board for Zion Lutheran Church Family & Children. She is a graduate of Penn State University.

Other 2011-2012 officers elected at PICPA's Central Chapter annual meeting include the following:

President-Elect: Lawrence D. Field III, CPA, is a partner with Dembert & Hoyne in Altoona. He is a member of the board of directors of St. Francis University's Stokes Club and is a supervisory committee member of ARC Federal Credit Union. Field, a graduate of St. Francis University, resides in Roaring Spring, Pa.

Secretary: Robert G. Okonak Jr., CPA, is a partner with Ciocca, Benton & Okonak PC in Altoona. He is a member of PICPA's Emerging CPAs Committee in Central Pa., and is involved with Growth and Relationships of Young Professionals (GRYP). Okonak, a graduate of Susquehanna University, resides in Altoona.

Treasurer: Terrilynn Johnson, CPA, is a supervisor with Corless and Associates in Hollidaysburg, Pa. She is a member of the Central Chapter's Relations with Schools and Colleges Committee, and is a member of the Growth and Relationship for Young Professionals (GRYP). Johnson, a graduate of City University, Michigan State University, resides in Hollidaysburg.
