Press Release: Area CPA Offers Testimony to House Finance Committee

HARRISBURG, Pa. - William R. Lazor, a certified public accountant from Scranton, Pa., presented a testimony to the House Finance Committee yesterday offering insight on issues which currently arise under the Pennsylvania Inheritance Tax. Lazor made note that these issues were brought to the attention of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), for whom Lazor was speaking on behalf, by its members.
Four issues were highlighted in the testimony: liquidity of assets, non-probate assets, filing of returns, and extensions for filing. Lazor detailed the present challenges and also outlined steps that could be taken to resolve the issues.
Lazor, a partner with Kronick Kalada Berdy & Company PC in Kingston, Pa., is a member of PICPA's State Taxation Committee. PICPA monitors and addresses legislative issues of interest to Pennsylvania taxpayers and advocates for a fair and equitable tax structure.
