Press Release: Gilbertsville Resident to Lead Chapter of State Association

Other Area CPAs to Serve as Officers of PICPA's Reading Chapter

READING, Pa. - Michelle L. Ward, certified public accountant, was elected president of the Reading Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) for the 2011-2012 fiscal year.

Ward is a supervisor with Reinsel Kuntz Lesher LLP in Wyomissing, Pa. She is a member of PICPA's Nominations and Emerging CPAs committees for the Reading Chapter. In addition to her volunteer efforts with PICPA, she has served on the board of directors of Fairview Counseling and the Play Therapy Center. Ward, a Gilbertsville, Pa., resident, earned a bachelor's degree from Temple University and a master's degree from Villanova University.

Other 2011-2012 officers elected at PICPA's Reading Chapter annual meeting include the following:

President-Elect: Craig A. Mengel, CPA, is a senior manager with ParenteBeard LLP in Reading. He serves on PICPA's Reading Chapter Operations and Nominations committees. In addition to his efforts with PICPA, he serves on the finance committee of Opportunity House and the allocation committee of the United Way of Berks County. Mengel is a graduate of Albright College and currently resides in Muhlenberg Township, Pa.

Secretary: Christopher M. Farah, CPA, is president of Farah Financial PC in Reading. He is chair of PICPA's Cooperation with the Bar Committee and a member of the Forensic and Litigation Services Committee. Farah, a Temple, Pa., resident, earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from St. John's University.

Treasurer: David W. Stonesifer, CPA, is a partner with Herbein + Company in Reading. He is a member of PICPA's Reading Chapter Accounting and Auditing Committee. Stonesifer, a Sinking Spring, Pa. resident, is a graduate of Albright College.
