PRESS RELEASE: Mountaintop Resident to Lead Chapter of State Association

Other Area CPAs to Serve as Officers of PICPA's Northeastern Chapter

MOOSIC, Pa. - Patricia A. Gendler, certified public accountant, was elected president of the Northeastern Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) for the 2011-2012 fiscal year.

Gendler is controller with CAN Do Inc. in Hazleton, Pa. Before being elected to chapter president, Gendler served on the chapter's Emerging CPAs Committee, Auditor Committee, and Speakers Bureau. She holds a bachelor's degree from Penn State University.

Other 2011-2012 officers elected at PICPA's Northeastern Chapter annual meeting include the following:

President-Elect: Marc T. Decowski, CPA, is a senior manager with ParenteBeard LLC in Wilkes-Barre. In addition to serving on the chapter's Emerging CPAs Committee, he is a member of the undergraduate programs advisory board at Wilkes University.

Secretary: Margaret Manley, CPA, is an accountant with Snyder & Clemente in Kingston, Pa. In addition to service with PICPA, Manley is also the treasurer of the Fine Arts Fiesta board of directors. Manley, a Plymouth, Pa., resident, earned a bachelor's degree from Wilkes University.

Treasurer: Philip C. Keaney, CPA, is a partner with JH Williams & Company LLP in Kingston. Keaney, a Shavertown, Pa., resident, earned a bachelor's degree from King's College.
